Chef Sandra Vazquez

Chef Sandra Vazquez is the head chef and co-owner of La Mestiza Restaurante in Tijuana, where she crafts contemporary Mexican cuisine with flare.  Since opening in 2013, La Mestiza has been a local favorite that fuses fresh ingredients with traditional dishes. The menu offers a wide variety of regional fare, from the famous chile poblano-stufffed corn tamales, to delicious jicama shrimp tacos, to the popular squash blossom omelets.

Originally from Michoacán de Ocampo, Chef Vazquez graduated from the Culinary Art School in Tijuana. Early in her career, Chef Vazquez cooked at the Hilton Hotel in Guadalajara, and later at contemporary Mexican restaurants.  In addition to running her own business, Chef Vazquez regularly demos recipes on the show TV show, Cuarto Para Las Cuatro.
